The scuff plate on a Kirby Sentria is the strip that takes the impact when the nozzle meets a baseboard, a chair leg or a door frame. Part 111208 replaces it, and it interchanges with the plate numbered 111206 on the same machine.
Once a plate cracks or wears through it stops doing its job in both directions: the housing behind it starts taking the knocks, and the broken edge begins marking the furniture and trim it slides against. It is a cheap part protecting an expensive one.
The replacement mounts to the original points on the Sentria and takes a few minutes. Worth doing as soon as you see a crack rather than waiting, because the damage it prevents is to the nozzle housing itself.
