Kirby Handle Fork Rear Cove...

Product details
673706 replaces the rear cover on a Kirby Sentria's handle fork, molded together with the lower cord hook rather than sold as two separate pieces.
The hook takes the weight of the wound cord, and it takes the worst abuse whenever someone throws the cord free of the machine instead of unwinding it by hand. A crack that starts at the hook's base often works its way into the cover itself, and once that happens the lower cord wrap has nothing left to hold onto.
With nowhere to sit, the cord trails on the floor instead of staying wound, gets stepped on and rolled over by the machine, and eventually kinks or wears through at the jacket. A small crack in the cover today can turn into a full cord replacement down the line if it sits unaddressed. 673706 fits the Sentria upright only, and it swaps in for the original in a few minutes with a Phillips screwdriver, with no separate hook to align since the two pieces are one molding.
While the fork is open, take a look at the upper hook and its screw too, since both hooks see comparable handling and one is often noticeably further along in wear than the other. A cracked cover also leaves the back of the fork open to the same knocks and moisture that damaged it in the first place, so it is worth closing this gap sooner rather than waiting for the hook half of the molding to give out as well.
