This genuine OEM Kenmore upper cord storage hook (part 31150) fits the Kenmore 31150, BU1005, and BU1018 uprights. It mounts near the top of the handle and holds the wrapped power cord in place while the vacuum is put away.
When the hook cracks or snaps off, the cord no longer stays wound and hangs loose against the machine. A dangling cord becomes a tripping hazard and drags on the floor, adding wear that can eventually expose the internal wires. Fitting the correct hook returns the cord to tidy, secure storage.
