Part 571025101 is the drive belt for the Kenmore DU1099 Feather Lite bagless upright, and it also fits the Kenmore 3112. The belt is the only link between the motor and the brush roll, so everything the roller does depends on it.

You can usually diagnose a tired belt without tools. Tip the machine back, switch it on, and watch the roller. If it turns slowly, hesitates when it touches carpet, or does not turn at all while the motor runs, the belt has stretched or broken. Carpet that looks unchanged after a pass and a burnt rubber smell point the same way.

Replacement needs no tools on most Feather Lite bases. A belt this size is worth changing every few months under regular use, well before it fails, since a slipping belt also glazes the motor pulley.
