The Kenmore 2-wire receptacle assembly is a genuine OEM replacement for the electrical socket on Kenmore canister vacuums, fitting models 81214 and BC4002. This receptacle is where the hose plug connects to the canister body, carrying power out to the nozzle motor at the floor.
When a power nozzle cuts out intermittently or refuses to start even though the hose is plugged in firmly, a worn receptacle is a common cause. Before replacing it, inspect the pins for corrosion, heat damage, or looseness, since visible wear there usually confirms the diagnosis.
Installation restores a solid electrical connection between the canister and hose. Always disconnect the vacuum from power before servicing any electrical component. Compatible Kenmore models are 81214 and BC4002.
