This genuine OEM Kenmore bag mount spring (Part #KC23DDGBZ000) fits the Kenmore 21814. The spring holds the dust bag mount under tension, keeping the bag collar pressed sealed against the inlet as the vacuum runs.
A bag mount spring that has weakened or broken lets the mount lose its grip, so the bag seats loosely and the seal breaks. Dust then escapes the compartment and suction drops as air slips past the collar. Fitting the correct OEM spring returns firm tension and a sealed bag mount.
