The Insulator for the Hoover 3101 Concept upright vacuum is a cardboard motor insulator, positioned between the motor and the chassis to reduce vibration and heat transfer into the surrounding housing. It is an unglamorous part, but it plays a real role in how quietly and coolly the machine runs.
Insulators degrade over time, particularly in a machine that has seen motor service or moisture. A compressed, torn, or missing insulator lets more vibration reach the body of the vacuum and allows motor heat to work on nearby components, accelerating wear on parts that are otherwise difficult to replace.
If you are servicing the motor on a Hoover Concept, this is the natural moment to renew the insulator as well, since it is already exposed during that repair and costs little effort to swap.
