Hoover WindTunnel Cord Reta...

Product details

This cord retainer screw, part 23149002, is the fastener that holds the cord retainer in place on Hoover WindTunnel uprights. The same screw is listed for the Oreck UR30075 and the Royal UR30075.

When this screw backs out or strips, the retainer can work loose and let the power cord shift out of position, which leads to a cord that trails on the floor or snags underfoot instead of staying anchored. Replacing the screw re-secures the retainer so the cord stays where it belongs.

  • Part: 23149002, cord retainer screw
  • Fits: Hoover CH50010, U5140900, U5458900, U5458910, U5460900, U5462900, U5467900, U5468900, U5470900, U5471900, U5472900, U5473900, U5481900, U5491900, U5491950, UH30070; Oreck UR30075; Royal UR30075
  • Function: fastens the cord retainer to the machine
  • Sign of wear: stripped threads, or a retainer that wiggles instead of sitting flush

Use a driver sized to the head so you do not strip it further, and check the list above to be sure your model is included before you order. A screw that will no longer bite is worth replacing at the first sign of it, since a retainer that has been loose for a while tends to enlarge the hole it sits in.
