This replacement Hoover valve stem seal fits SteamVac models, including F5869900. It seals around the valve stem in the solution system so cleaning fluid is released only when you press the trigger.
When the seal hardens or splits, solution seeps past the stem and drips even with the trigger released, wasting fluid and soaking the carpet unevenly. A new seal closes that path so dispensing happens on demand and stops cleanly.
