The Hoover upright rubber foot pad, part 38426071, is a small replacement pad that mounts on the underside of the vacuum. It does two quiet jobs: damping vibration while the motor runs and keeping the machine from scratching hard flooring when it is parked upright. When the pad wears through or falls off, the vacuum gets louder in use and bare plastic can mark your floors.
Fitting a new pad takes only a minute and returns the machine to running the way it should, quieter in operation and safe to stand on hardwood and other hard floors between cleaning sessions.
This foot pad fits the Hoover U7079 upright. It is an inexpensive piece of preventive care, especially in homes with hardwood floors you would rather not see scratched by a parked vacuum.
