The right-hand latch lock (Part #36151020) is a replacement latch for the Hoover SteamVac carpet cleaner. It pairs with the left-hand latch (#36151021), and together the two hold the SteamVac housing closed. It fits models F5837-900, F5839-900, and the F5862-900 through F5907-900 range, over 35 models in all.
When a latch cracks or loses its spring, the tank can shift or pop off mid-clean, spilling water onto the carpet you are trying to clean. Because both sides wear at the same rate, replacing the pair keeps the housing gripping evenly and securely.
