This left-hand latch lock (Part #36151021) is a replacement latch that secures the tank and housing on the Hoover SteamVac carpet cleaner. It works alongside the right-hand latch (#36151020) and fits models F5837-900, F5839-900, and the F5862-900 through F5907-900 range, more than 35 models in total.
A broken latch lets the tank pop loose during cleaning, which can dump water across your carpet and stop the job cold. This lock snaps into place and holds firm through the pressure of hard scrubbing. Since both latches wear together, swapping the pair keeps the closure balanced.
