This replacement release lever shaft lock ring (Part #13306) secures the release lever shaft on older Hoover upright vacuums. It fits the Hoover 3616.
If the lock ring pops off or breaks, the handle release mechanism no longer latches properly and the vacuum can get stuck in a single position. Fitting a fresh ring holds the shaft in place so the handle reclines and locks the way it should. It is a tiny component that prevents a frustrating handle fault.
