This is the front nozzle cover for the Hoover PowerDash FH41000 and FH41010, supplied as part 440014581.
It forms the front face of the extractor nozzle, the moulding that keeps solution and suction working together across the width of the head. Because it is the leading edge of the machine, it is what meets skirting boards, door thresholds and table legs, and a crack there is far more consequential than it looks: air enters through the split rather than through the carpet, so the nozzle stops lifting solution back out and the machine starts leaving wet trails behind it.
A sound cover restores that sealed path. It fits the Hoover FH41000 and FH41010 PowerDash carpet cleaners. Rinse the nozzle area after each use, since dried detergent and fibre build up behind the cover and make the next crack easier to miss.
