This genuine OEM Hoover latch lock (part 36151021) is the right-hand latch for the F5867 SteamVac, model F5837900. It secures the right side of the machine's housing or recovery tank, holding that side closed so the assembly stays sealed during operation.
A latch that has cracked or lost tension lets its side spring open, breaking the seal and allowing spills or rattling as you clean and carry the unit. Because it is molded to the original specification, this replacement closes tight and restores the secure, leak-free fit the machine had when new.
