This bottom plate (Part #440016588) is a replacement that includes the plate and its end caps for the Hoover HushTone commercial upright, fitting models CH90600 and CH91600. The bottom plate is the floor-facing surface that takes the brunt of wear on the machine.
As the plate wears down, it no longer holds a proper nozzle-to-floor seal, and that seal is what drives strong suction and effective carpet cleaning. A fresh plate and end caps rebuild the correct nozzle geometry and restore the seal.
