The Hoover handle retainer plate with tab is a replacement part for Convertible upright vacuums in the non-self-propelled configuration, including model 1030. It secures the handle at the pivot point where it meets the vacuum body, and the molded tab acts as a stop that keeps the handle from rotating past its intended range.
When this plate cracks or wears, the symptoms are easy to spot. The handle develops side-to-side play, flops backward past its normal recline position, or will not lock upright for storage. Replacing the retainer plate restores a firm pivot and proper handle stops.
This part fits the non-self-propelled Hoover Convertible, model 1030. Convertible uprights were built in many variations over the years, so match your model number carefully before ordering.
