This replacement Hoover secondary filter fits the Spectrum and Futura series, measures roughly 5.5 by 4 inches, and fits model C2089. It sits downstream of the bag to trap fine particles before air passes on toward the motor and exhaust.
As a secondary filter loads with dust it restricts airflow and stops catching the fine material it is meant to hold, which can let grit reach the motor. Dropping in a clean filter restores airflow and keeps exhaust air free of fine dust.
