This replacement carry handle detent (part #430000999) fits the Oreck XL21-600 upright and the Hoover CH50200. The detent is the small locking component that holds the carry handle firmly in its raised or lowered position.
With repeated use the detent's spring and catch wear down until the handle no longer locks and instead flops freely between positions. A loose handle is awkward to carry and can pinch or shift unexpectedly. A fresh detent restores the crisp, positive click of the original locking action.
