Complete brush roll for the Hoover PowerDash FH50700 carpet washer, part 440012796, covering the FH50700CDI as well.
The roller is what agitates the carpet while the machine sprays, and it does that work wet, against grit, on every single pass. Bristles flatten and bend, and once they have lost their spring they lay the solution down without ever working it into the pile. The tell is carpet that looks clean while it is wet and dull again the moment it dries.
Pull the roller and look at it end on. Worn bristles curl away from the true circle and usually wear unevenly, one band shorter than the rest. Clear away any hair wrapped at the ends while it is out, then fit the new roller and confirm your model number before you order.
