Fuller Brush Speedy Maid uprights take this HEPA filter, part B051-0700B, and so does the Fuller Brush 2344. It is the sealed-media stage in the machine's filtration path, the one that holds fine dust, pollen and dander rather than passing it back out into the room.

HEPA media is meant to load up; that is how it works. The trade is airflow. As the pleats fill, the motor has more resistance to pull against, suction at the nozzle drops off, and the exhaust starts to smell dusty. A filter that has been knocked, torn or refitted crookedly is worse than a dirty one, because air simply goes around the media.

Fit a fresh filter and both the airflow and the clean exhaust come back. It is the first thing to check when a bagged upright feels tired but the bag is not full.
