This handle grip with receptacle, part 170064, is the control end of a Beam central vacuum hose and fits the Beam 1304. It is both the part you hold and the part carrying the electrical connection through to the power nozzle.
Handle ends take a beating. The grip is what you steer with, so it gets levered against every corner and doorway, and the plastic eventually cracks or works loose on the hose end. When that happens the hose feels vague and awkward to control, and if the receptacle contacts are damaged the power nozzle starts cutting in and out, a fault that looks like a nozzle problem but is not.
Follow the original assembly order when fitting, keeping the electrical connections seated exactly as they were before the grip goes back on.
