This OEM filter cover fits the Fuller Brush Home Maid canister, models FB-HMP and FBHM. The cover holds the filter in place over its opening, keeping the media seated so air passes through it as the machine runs. A cover that fits snugly is what keeps the filtration stage doing its job.
A clogged or poorly held filter lets suction drop and can allow dust to escape back into the room, and a cracked or broken cover is often what lets the filter shift out of place.
