This replacement Shark foam filter (Part #F657) fits the Shark Navigator NV42, NV44, NV46, and UV402 uprights. It sits ahead of the motor, trapping fine dust before it reaches the motor and wears it down.
Foam filters break down and compress with use, and a torn or flattened one lets grit through while suction fades. Once the foam stops springing back after a rinse, cleaning performance drops and it is time for a fresh one.
