This replacement sponge filter fits Hoover Steam Vac F5800 series machines and is also sold as part #440007364. The sponge captures fine dust and debris in the airflow path, helping hold suction and protect the motor during use.

A sponge filter that is compressed, torn, or clogged restricts airflow and stops returning to shape, so suction and cleaning performance fall off. Because it works around moisture, it also needs regular rinsing to stay clear. Cleaning or replacing the sponge restores airflow and keeps the motor protected.
