This replacement Dyson pre-motor filter (Part #F636, also sold as #F622) fits the Dyson DC40, DC40 Animal, DC40 Exclusive, DC40 Multi Floor, DC42, UP16 Animal, UP16 Multifloor, UP16 Origin, UP19 Ball Multi Floor 2, Slim Ball Animal, and Slim Ball Multi Floor. It traps fine dust before it reaches the motor.
As the filter loads, airflow falls and the motor works harder and runs hotter, which shortens its life and weakens suction. A clean pre-motor filter restores the intake the DC40 was built around.
