Product details

3YRHPK1 is Oreck's HEPA filter replacement for the AirInstinct air purifiers. Oreck lists it against the AirInstinct 75, 100, 150 and 200, and the parts trade carries it for the 108 as well, cross-referenced to the older AIR108HPK1 number.

Purifier media loads on a calendar rather than on a use schedule, because the same air keeps passing through the unit around the clock instead of once during a cleaning session. That changes what failure looks like. A purifier on old media rarely stops moving air, it just stops doing much to it. The room never quite loses its dust or pet odor, and fine particles settle back onto surfaces at close to the rate they did before the unit was switched on.

Pull the filter out into good light rather than judging it through the housing. Media that has gone visibly grey has been carrying a heavy load for a while, whatever the indicator on the front of the unit reports. Change the carbon odor stage at the same time if your unit runs one, since fresh HEPA media behind a saturated odor filter still starves for airflow.

Where the unit sits changes how fast it gets through media. A purifier pushed against a wall or tucked under a shelf recirculates the same pocket of air instead of drawing from the room, which makes it look ineffective long before the filter is actually finished. Give it clearance on the intake side and note the date on the new filter when it goes in, because with an appliance that runs continuously the calendar is a more honest guide than memory.
