The fill tube is the black passage that carries dirt from the fan chamber up into the outer bag on a Kirby upright, and this replacement, part 190384S, takes over when the original has cracked, torn at the ends, or gone brittle with age.
A failed fill tube is easy to spot once you know the signs: dust puffing out around the bag, grit collecting inside the outer cloth bag where it should not be, and pickup that keeps fading even with a fresh belt and bag fitted. Because the tube flexes with the bag assembly on every pass, it is a normal wear item on machines this long-lived.
It fits Kirby uprights from the Heritage (1HD and 2HD) and Heritage II through the Legend series, Generation 3, G4, G5, G6, Ultimate G, Diamond Edition, and Sentria. The model plate on the underside will tell you which generation you own.
