Returns & Exchanges

Dark blue is the AUTOMATIC X8 finish, and 52029DB is the exhaust filter cover moulded for that machine. It shuts over the exhaust filter bay at the back of the power head and keeps the filter clamped, so the air leaving the vacuum has no route except through the media.

Two things send owners after this part. The first is impact: a cracked corner or a split along the clip line after the machine has gone over on a stair. The second is ordinary wear at the clips, which give up gradually across many filter services until the panel no longer snaps home. Either way the outcome is the same, a filter that will not sit tight and exhaust air finding its way around the border rather than through it. A new panel puts steady, even pressure back onto the media and stops the cover drumming against the housing. Worth saying plainly: this is the cover, not the filter behind it, so a machine that has been blowing dusty air needs the media changed as well as the panel.

Fitting is straightforward. Unclip the old cover, lift out the exhaust filter if it is due, seat the replacement filter squarely in its recess and press the new panel on until both clips engage. Take a moment to run a finger round the edge afterwards; a cover that stands proud anywhere is either on a filter that is not seated or has a lug still catching.
