This replacement flat belt drives the brush roll in the Hoover WindTunnel Power Drive upright and ships two belts per package. The belt loops from the motor shaft to the brush roll, turning motor power into the sweeping action that pulls dirt out of carpet.
A worn or stretched belt slips on the pulley, letting the brush roll slow or stop while the motor keeps running, so cleaning drops off well before the belt breaks. Replacing it, and having a spare on hand, keeps the brush roll spinning at full speed and the carpet properly groomed.
