This 12-inch replacement brush roll shaft (part 35663A) fits Eureka and Sanitaire VG1 brush rolls and works with both square-end and hex-end rolls. The shaft is the axle the brush roll turns on, holding the bristle rows true as the roll spins across the carpet.
A shaft that has bent or worn makes the brush roll wobble and spin off-center, so it cleans unevenly and grinds through belts faster than it should. If the roll no longer spins smoothly, the shaft is usually the cause. A straight replacement returns balanced rotation and takes the strain off the belt.
