This cord bushing bracket fits Sanitaire N/S uprights, including the SC679J, and secures the power cord where it enters the machine body. The bracket clamps the cord in its strain-relief position so tugs on the cord pull against the housing rather than the internal wiring connections.
A worn or cracked bushing bracket lets the cord shift and flex at the terminals, a common source of intermittent power and a genuine shock or short hazard over time. A sound bracket re-anchors the cord and protects the connections behind it.
