This replacement cord reel fits the Eureka 6975A Excalibur and is listed for the Eureka 54984. The reel houses the spring and spool that retract the power cord automatically into the canister body.
The retraction spring in a cord reel weakens and the spool can bind over years of pulling and winding, until the cord no longer draws in fully or jams partway. Fitting a new cord reel brings back smooth, complete retraction so the cord stows neatly instead of trailing behind the machine.
