This cap and bearing assembly fits the Eureka 1432D upright, and the EP9025A, supporting one end of the brush roll. The bearing lets the roll spin with minimal friction while the cap holds it captive in the end of the nozzle so the brush stays aligned as it turns.
As the bearing wears, the brush roll develops drag, noise, and side play, which loads the belt and motor and slows agitation. Replacing the worn assembly frees the roll to spin cleanly again and takes the strain off the drive.
