The Electrolux EL8605 Upright Base Plate is an OEM bottom plate for Electrolux and Eureka upright vacuums, including the EL8605A, EL8605A1, EL8602, and EL8605. The bottom plate does more work than most owners realize: it maintains proper airflow through the nozzle and holds the correct brush roll clearance, both of which determine how well the machine actually cleans carpet.
A cracked or warped plate lets suction bleed off at the nozzle and allows debris to escape back onto the floor. If your upright suddenly seems weaker at the head even with a fresh bag and clean filter, the base plate is one of the first things worth inspecting.
This is a small repair that can restore a noticeable amount of cleaning performance. Confirm your model number against the compatibility list before ordering.
