Rainbow Floor Brush - D4, D...

Product details

Part R8058 is the full floor-brush assembly Rainbow uses on its D4, D4C, D4CSE and D4SE canister vacuums, supplied whole rather than as a bristle strip alone, and it doubles as the part Rainbow specifies for the E series machines.

This attachment is built for bare floors and thin rugs, where bristles need to dip down and pull debris up rather than have a stiff edge push it along. Age shows up as a housing cracked at the neck, a swivel joint that has gone loose, or a sole plate that no longer rests flat against the floor, and once any of those set in the brush glides over fine dust instead of gathering it.

When the housing and swivel are still tight and only the bristle ring has worn down, the bristle strip is available on its own, so it is worth a look before buying the whole assembly.

Test the swivel for side-to-side play at the same time as checking the bristles, since a loose joint lets the brush twist out of square with the floor partway through a pass even when the bristles underneath are fine. If the head will not lie flat under light hand pressure, the swivel is the more likely cause. Bristle wear also tends to dull the sweeping action well before the strands look visibly short, so comparing this brush against a new one side by side is a better test than judging length alone.

  • Part: R8058
  • Type: complete floor brush assembly, not just the bristle strip
  • Fits: Rainbow D4, D4C, D4CSE, D4SE, E series
  • Replace when: housing is cracked, the swivel is loose, or the sole will not sit flat
