This clutch assembly (Part #10-3000-07) drives the brushroll on your Dyson upright and fits the Dyson DC07, DC14, and DC33 bagless uprights. It transfers motor power to the brushroll through the belt system.
When the clutch fails, the brushroll stops spinning even though the belt is still intact, so the vacuum glides over carpet without agitating it. That leaves fibers matted and dirt behind despite normal suction. A fresh clutch restores proper belt tension and brush engagement so the roller digs into the carpet again.
