Product details
Skirting boards and chair legs reach the bottom edge of the bag housing before they reach anything else, which is precisely what the bumper base is there to absorb. SEBO lists it at position 27 on the ESSENTIAL G4/G5 drawing, and the order code in light gray is 51102HG.
A bumper that has split, gone brittle or been torn part-way off no longer soaks up those knocks, and the housing behind it starts taking the damage instead. That is the expensive way round: a bag housing is a large moulding with sealing faces and mounting points, and it is what keeps the filter bag sealed into the airway. A strip of impact plastic at the front of the machine costs a fraction of it. This is also the part that makes a machine look tired, since it sits at eye level whenever the vacuum is stood in a hallway.
Fitting is a bumper-only job as long as the housing behind it is sound. If the mounting points that carry the bumper have themselves broken, the complete housing is the honest answer rather than a bumper that has nothing solid to hold on to.
