The Dirt Devil cord reel assembly (Part #440002717, SD40030) is a replacement reel that fits the Dirt Devil 5905. It winds the power cord into the machine and feeds it back out on demand for tidy, convenient storage.
When the retraction spring breaks or the cord sticks and no longer pulls back in fully, storing the vacuum becomes awkward and a trailing cord turns into a tripping hazard. A fresh cord reel restores automatic, dependable retraction.
