The Dirt Devil pivot clamp is an OEM-specification replacement for the 087800 Vision and a wide range of related uprights. It secures the pivot joint where the nozzle meets the vacuum body so the two hold together under normal flexing.
A cracked or loose clamp lets the joint wobble, which can break the seal around the brush-roll area and let suction escape. Replacing a worn clamp keeps the nozzle firmly joined to the body so full airflow reaches the carpet.
