Dirt Devil's Flip Out and Quick Flip cordless hand vacuums use the F-101 cup filter, sold as part 440009116, seated directly inside the dirt cup itself rather than positioned downstream at an exhaust vent.
Because it lives right in the cup, this filter takes the debris load directly rather than seeing only what an earlier stage has already passed on, and a hand vacuum this small loses airflow fast once the media starts to load up. The motor keeps sounding exactly the same, but crumbs and debris start piling on the surface of the cup instead of pulling all the way in.
Tapping the loose dust out buys a little more time, but once the pleats stay dull and gray even after a good cleaning, the filter has stopped doing its job and needs a proper swap rather than another round of tapping.
