Readivac RH2000 Storm Dirt Cup

Product details
Readivac's RH2000 Storm hand vac uses part RH2000-P206 as its dirt cup, the bin that holds whatever the vacuum picks up until it is emptied.
On a bagless hand vac, the cup only works if its latch and rim seal tightly against the housing. Emptying it against the edge of a wastebasket hundreds of times, plus the ordinary drops and knocks a small vacuum takes, is what wears down the plastic or loosens the latch until it no longer pulls snug. Once the seal opens even slightly, suction falls off because air is pulled in at that gap rather than through the nozzle.
A hairline crack near the latch is easy to miss at a glance. When suction feels weak but the motor still sounds normal, holding the cup up to a light to check the seam is worth doing before you assume the motor needs attention.
