ProTeam's Xover floor tool covers a 14 inch path on a 1-1/2 inch connection and is the multi-surface head across the brand's backpack vacuums, part 107016.
It is built to cross between carpet and hard floor without a tool change, with a wider mouth than a standard floor brush so it takes in larger debris, and a shoe brush along the head that agitates carpet as it passes. ProTeam specifies it for low-pile commercial carpet and hard floors with durable finishes, so it is not the head to run over a delicate or freshly finished floor.
The tradeoff of a crossover head is that it will not beat a dedicated carpet nozzle or a dedicated bare floor brush on their own ground. What it buys is time: on a route that crosses from lobby tile to office carpet a dozen times an evening, not stopping to swap tools is worth more than the last few percent of pickup on either surface.
Replace it when the sole has worn thin along the leading edge or the swivel has gone loose. Grasp the head with the machine off and twist it gently against the wand; a little play is normal, but a head that flops rather than resisting has worn the bushing that keeps it square to the floor. Because it works two surfaces, it wears unevenly, so check the side that rides carpet as well as the edge that meets hard flooring.
