This replacement Panasonic hood cover plate fits the MC-6601. The plate closes off part of the upper housing, forming a smooth surface over the internals and helping keep the airflow path enclosed within the machine.
A cover plate that has cracked or gone missing leaves the housing open, which can bleed air out of the sealed path and expose interior components to dust and knocks. Installing a new plate closes the housing back up and helps the vacuum hold its intended airflow and suction.
