This compression nut fits 1-1/2 inch aluminum wands on commercial vacuum systems. It tightens the compression joint that locks the wand to a coupler or tool, holding the connection firm under heavy use.
A worn or cross-threaded compression nut cannot clamp the joint tightly, so the wand loosens, air leaks, and suction drops at the tool. A loose nut also lets the wand separate during cleaning. A fresh nut restores a secure, sealed clamp.
