The Commercial Floor Machine Pad Retainer, part 455, is a right-hand twist replacement retainer for high-speed commercial floor machines. Its job is simple but critical: it locks the buffing or polishing pad firmly to the driver so the pad stays centered at operating speed. When a retainer wears out or goes missing, pads slip, walk off center, and can spin loose entirely, leaving swirl marks and uneven finish where you wanted a consistent shine.
The twist-lock design also makes pad changes fast. There are no tools involved; a quarter turn releases the spent pad and secures the new one, which matters when a crew is burnishing large areas and changing pads several times a shift.
This retainer is a universal fit for commercial high-speed machines that use a right-hand twist pad system. Keeping a spare in the supply cart avoids losing a night's floor work to one small missing part.
