Product details
The 23T6 charging adapter, part 1614206, is what Bissell built for a group of its cordless hand and stick vacuums that take power through a port on the machine body rather than sitting down into a dock. Nine model numbers share it, which is why the part number is a safer thing to order against than the name printed on the machine.
A battery pack and the adapter that feeds it age on separate schedules, and the adapter is usually first to go because it is the half that gets handled. What makes the diagnosis awkward is that both faults look the same from outside: shorter run time, a machine that will not wake up, an indicator behaving oddly. The clue that points at the adapter rather than the cells is inconsistency. A pack that has genuinely worn out fails the same way every time, while a failing adapter works one day and not the next, or works only until the cord shifts in the port.
- Part: 1614206, 23T6 charging adapter
- Function: wall charger, plugs into the port on the machine body
- Fits: Bissell 3192C, 3034N, 3034C, 2387, 2284W, 2284, 23903, 2390A, 2390
- Points to the charger: intermittent behavior rather than a consistent failure
Look at the port on the machine as well as at the adapter before deciding which one to replace. A charging port that has been knocked out of square, or that has lint packed down into it, keeps a perfectly good adapter from making contact, and no replacement charger will fix that. Give a new adapter one full uninterrupted charge before judging whether it worked, since a pack that has been sitting flat for weeks does not always show a normal charge on the first cycle.
