The central vacuum metal fire wall tube, part 7465, is a 2-inch outer diameter, 6-inch long metal sleeve used where central vacuum pipe passes through a fire-rated wall. Building codes in many jurisdictions require a non-combustible pathway wherever piping crosses a fire barrier, and this tube is the fitting that satisfies that requirement in both residential and commercial installations.
If you are roughing in a whole-home central vacuum system, or extending an existing run through a rated partition, plan on one of these tubes at each fire-rated penetration. It installs in the wall opening and the vacuum pipe runs through it, keeping the installation compliant without changing how the system performs.
