The Carpet Pro Strain Relief for the Sanitaire SC-412 backpack vacuum is an OEM replacement cord component that protects the power cord at its most vulnerable point, where it enters the machine. It also fits the Carpet Pro SCBP1 backpack vacuum and similar models.
Strain relief parts take constant flexing as a backpack vacuum moves through a building, and once they crack or loosen, the cord itself starts to wear. A frayed or damaged power cord is a genuine safety hazard, carrying risk of shock or fire, so any cord component showing visible damage should be replaced promptly.
