This replacement carbon brush set with plastic holders (Part #R8321K) fits the Rexair Rainbow E and E-2 Series GS motor, the R7816G. The set includes two brushes with plastic holders that ride against the motor's commutator to carry current to the windings.

Carbon brushes wear down with use, and worn brushes cause sparking, reduced suction, a burning odor, or a motor that intermittently cuts out as contact grows uneven. Left too long, worn brushes can damage the commutator. Fitting a fresh set restores clean, steady electrical contact and full motor power.
